Today Chanderi, located in MP in its Ashoknagar District, is about 127km from Shivpuri and 45km from Isagarh. Surrounded by the hills to the southwest of River Betwa, Chanderi is strategically located on the borders of Bundelkhand and Malwa. Once occupying a dominant position on the trade route through Central India, today Chanderi is a tourist destination for its picturesque hills and lakes as well as its forts and of course its Chanderi Sarees. The fastest way to reach Chanderi is by air. You can land at Gwalior and thereafter take a taxi to cover the five hours’ drive to Chanderi.
