Somnath Weather And Best Time To Visit Somnath
Somnath is one of the primary religious destinations in India, home to a temple that has stood the test of time, destroyed and been rebuilt over and over again, ever since the time of Mahabharata. Renowned for the historic Somnath temple, this city attracts a lot of visitors who usually come to seek blessings from the presiding deity Lord Somnath, a form of Lord Shiva The temple has its own history and was once the richest temple in India. So not only its beauty but its history too attracts many people to this small town.
The weather in Somnath is pretty good in winter but is unbearable in summer. So the best time to visit Somnath is during the months from November to February.
Summer (March - June)
Somnath is primarily a beach city and hence the climate here is mostly semi-arid which can be blistering during the summer months. The summer season usually starts from the mid of March and lasts till June. In March, the temperature is pretty decent for visitors but it slowly increases, starting April and becomes extremely hot and humid in May and June. Therefore, it is not the recommended time to tour this city. There are some extremely nice beaches in Somnath that still attract visitors even in the toughest time of the year.

Monsoon (July - October)
Monsoon brings some relief from the scorching heat and the temperature starts to drop as the monsoon progresses. Monsoon continues to shower the city till the end of September and at times till mid-October. The whole region becomes quite windy during this time. The town receives moderate showers, however, the weather remains very humid. You can still enjoy lovely beaches to cool yourselves.

Winter (November - February)
Winter is the most pleasant time to visit Somnath. It is that time of the year when a majority of tourists travel to Somnath not only from within Gujarat but from other states as well. The winter starts from November and lasts till February. Occasionally, the temperature in winter drops to below 10 ℃ and it gets extremely cold during this time. The days are pleasant giving you enough opportunity to get around the region and the neighboring tourist attractions.
