The rainy season begins in July and wraps up around mid-September. From here on till the winter season begins, is the peak season to visit Kedarnath. However, the monsoons can bring excessive rainfall on occasion, making it less than ideal to visit, with an average climate of 12°C. Between November and March, Kedarnath is practically closed to the tourists. The temperatures drop to sub-zero levels and are accompanied by heavy rains, resulting in most people avoiding travel here. The area literally turns into a white ghost town as all the main attractions in the area are shut off to tourists and visitors. Do not visit at this time as the roads are bad, amenities unavailable, and nothing to do.
