Brisbane Weather And Best Time To Visit Brisbane
Brisbane, arguably the fastest growing Australian capital city. It is home to numerous fun activities, a plethora of flora and fauna and indigenous aboriginal tribes as well. But most of all, it is a place you would want to be in all year round. With pleasant weather in Brisbane for the most part of the year, this is a year-round destination. However, Despite this, we believe, the best time to visit Brisbane would be in the months of April and May, which also happens to be the shoulder season.
Spring (September to November)
With Australia experiencing the seasons in an opposite pattern from the rest of the world, Spring lasts from the month of September to November. Travellers will experience a marked increase in the temperature from the winter months and humidity will also increase. However, the temperatures during this period are still pleasant with very less rainfall. This is a lovely time to visit the beautiful city of Brisbane. However, we suggest carrying extra layers of clothing for the warmth required in early spring and an umbrella or a rain jacket for late spring.
Summer (December to February)
In the state of Queensland, summers are characterised by Summer Storms, with temperature between 31-33°C. The hot weather and high levels of humidity will keep growing on a particular day if a storm tends to be brewing. These storms generally occur from late afternoon to early evening and are accompanied by thunder, lightning and a heavy downpour. However, these summer storm spells get over quickly. While Brisbane is situated a little further off the coast, the city does tend to get very hot and humid which at times may be uncomfortable for tourists. If you do plan to travel during the summer, carry light airy clothes and a rain jacket and an umbrella is a must-have in your backpack.
Autumn (March to May)
Autumn is a period of weather transition, with a temperature range of 15 - 25°C. While March and April are on the warmer side, as May approaches, the weather becomes more pleasant and decreasing temperatures make way for the approaching winter. The humidity is very less and so is the rainfall. The autumn season is among the best time to visit Brisbane. Late Autumn happens to be the shoulder season and you can easily avoid the local crowds during this period. For early Autumn, you should carry light airy clothes and an umbrella, just in case! Late autumn would require you to have some warm clothes for the cooler evenings.
Winter (June to August)
Winters are characterised by crisp mornings and evenings, blue skies and very little rainfall. Since most of the tourist attractions are within the city limits, this tends to be the ideal season to explore them all when travelling by bike or foot. Moreover, outdoor activities are also more pleasurable with pleasant weather. With pleasant days and cool evenings, a temperature range of 11 - 21°C, we suggest you carry some warm clothes if planning a trip during the winters.
