Patong is a beach resort town which is not too far from Phuket. Tourists visiting Phuket usually go for Patong beach also. This beach has a 300 m long stretch of white sand where people can come for a leisurely walk. It is one of the most romantic places in Patong. People usually come around to relax in the lap of nature. The beach is surrounded by granite rocks, hills and thick tropical jungles. One can go for snorkelling, sunbathing and other water activities. 

The name itself suggests the essence of this beach. One can actually experience heaven on this beach. The length of the beach is about 150 m long, and tourists can walk through the rocks and discover another small isolated beach.

It is obviously the most known beach of the town. The whole beach has a stretch of about 3 to 4 km, and travellers are suggested to visit the beach early in the morning as it gets crowded in the daytime. There are a lot of water sports carried out on the beach like parasailing, jet-skiing and swimming.

This Muay Thai fight is a very popular martial art form of Thailand, and Patong conducts many Muay fights on a regular basis. The most famous fight can be witnessed at the Bangla stadium, and the tickets are at an affordable price. You must have the stomach for violence though, as the fights may get nasty towards the end. But if you do go for it then rest assured, it is a thumping, thrilling, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

There are many tiny islands near Patong which are not explored by most tourists. Phi Phi Islands and Similan islands are smaller islands with less crowd and serene beauty which can be explored through boat rides by tourists. Regular boats and ferries leave the shore for day trips and you can book any one you like on the spot.

One should explore the city of Patong if they have some free time. Tourists can wander around the town and look around the local markets of Patong and delve into the culture and history of Patong by talking to the locals. The best exploration comes about at nights as the streets light up and bars and pubs are echoing with jazz or other rock music. It is a popular weekend spot for locals as well as tourists to chill and dive into the Kathu waterfall. The best time to visit the place is from June to November, when there are heavy rainfalls. Tourists should definitely go for the top of the fall, although it is a difficult to climb uphill.

Patong GO-kart speedway is a fun activity especially for people who want to experience and have a fervor for motor racing tracks. The race track is 750 m long and has a series of sharp curves, bends and a long straight finish line. If you are not a racer at heart then even witnessing a race is thrilling and very very entertaining.
