You can climb up the Harder via the Harder-Kulm funicular. The view from the top is at a height of over 1000 meters and is spectacular. It is what attracts people to Interlaken in the first place. The panoramic view of the lakes, mountains and surrounding greenery makes for some great clicks and memories. There are 2 look-out pavilions at different heights, so don't forget to visit both. The Harder Alpine Wildlife Park is also nearby and you can visit it to spot some marmots and ibexes.
You can’t miss out on visiting the highest railway station in all of Europe. The train line is more than 100 years old and the Jungfraujoch station is at a height of 3466 meters. You can visit the Top of Europe building here which offers some jaw-dropping views of the frozen Glacier all-year-round.
Unspunnen Castle is located 3km from the centre and is easily approachable by public transport. The castle dates back to the 1200s and an important centre of power in the 13th and 14th centuries. The castle currently stands in ruins but makes for an interesting visit. You can also walk up to Rothenfluh Castle, but the trail can be rough as it is situated on the side of a cliff. The trail can take you about an hour and it is not advisable to walk the path after dark or with children.

St. Beatus Cave and Waterfalls
For people who like to travel the off beaten path, St. Beatus Cave and Waterfalls is a good way to spend part of your day. Take a tour of the beautiful underground cave chambers, filled with stalactites and stalagmites, mirror lakes and waterfalls! The walkway inside the caves is about 1 km long. Don’t forget to visit the Cave Museum as well to learn more about the terrain. You can reach the cave by road, rail and boat, however, there is a steep climb up to the cave if you visit by boat.
Interlaken Monastery and Castle
The history of Interlaken’s former Augustinian Monastery dates all the way back to the 12th century and is a colourful one. From being founded as a monastery to being converted into a hospital after the reformation and to currently being an administrative office, it has gone through a lot. Walk around the grounds of the castle and monastery and look out for the beautiful architectural work. Notable things to see are the 14th-century steeple of the church and the gothic cloister gallery.
Lake Thun lies on the west of Interlaken, surrounded by mountains. You can explore its shores by walking along its path and you will encounter some drop-dead-gorgeous landscapes!
