Summer in Cappadocia is far more pleasant than other parts of the country. But being a very tourist-heavy region, it can get extremely crowded during this time. The average temperature is around 25°C and the afternoons can get hot - though nothing that a little sunscreen, hat and sunglasses can't fix. There are plenty of events that happen in summer. The most important is the Cappadox Festival that takes place every June and is a celebration of arts, music and food. Also famous in this period is the Dried Apricots festival and towards the last week of August, there is also a Tourism and Handicrafts festival in Avanos - famous for its pottery.
