Things To Do In Rajim
Located in Gariaband district of Chhattisgarh, Rajim is a small town known for its religious significance and cultural heritage. It is an ancient city in Chhattisgarh and has a lot of religious sites; but other than these temples, there are many other things to do in Rajim as well. Rajim is a city known for its Kumbh Mela which is very famous throughout the country; this usually happens in January and the place is quite crowded then. After you are done visiting all the temples in the vicinity, make sure you go to some beautiful gardens that are there all over the place. Relax at Gandhi Udyan Park
Located at about 40 km from Rajim is a beautiful park called Gandhi Udyan Park. This is a very peaceful park and appeals to nature lovers who can explore the different kind of flora that grows and survives there. The best time to visit this garden is early morning or evenings when the air cool and pleasant to relax and rehabilitate. This is a good place to go with children as it has a lot of open space to play around and have picnics. Explore the Shadani Darbar
Shadani darbar is an important religious place in Rajim located on Dhantari road in Chhattisgarh. This is quite a mainstream pilgrimage spot for Hindus and is visited by many throughout the year. Inside the Darbar you can see pictures of gods and goddesses and statues of the same in stone very beautifully carved. This Darbar is spread across 12 sections of land and takes about an hour to explore the entire area. Everyday prayers are offered and pujas are done by priests. The main attraction is the statues that are carved out marvelously.
Mahant Ghasidas Smarak Sangrahalay
Located at a distance of 48.4 km from Rajim is Mahant Ghasidas Samarak Sangrahalay, one of the finets museums in Chhattisgarh. This structure was built in 1975 by Raja Mahant Ghasidas and has a good collection of artifacts that are historically significant. There are many sculptures as exhibits as well and are quite interesting to observe. An hours’ drive from Rajim and you will be at this state of the art museum to see some ancient artifacts that were found by archeologists several hundred years ago. You can find exhibits like weapons, inscriptions on stones, ancient coins, carvings and sculptures.
Enjoy Rides at Urja Park
Urja Park also known as Solar Energy Park is located in Raipur which is not too far from Rajim. This is an eco park and was established with the goal of educating people about saving power and energy and conserving it for a better future. The entire area is inclusive of a lot of open space and of another part that has rides; these rides operate on solar energy that is generated in the park. There are other entertaining factors in the park like musical fountains, science puzzles and many more things.
Have Fun at Chinkara Pakar Waterfall
Chhattisgarh is state with immense natural beauty and a lot of things for people to explore for people visiting. Close to Rajim, there are many spots that will make you want to stay there forever; one such place is the Chinkara Pakar Waterfall. This waterfall is a famous waterfall near Rajim and is a very peaceful getaway. Go on a Boat Ride in Burha Talab
Burha Talab is a famous attraction that must be visited on your trip to Rajim. Constructed on the old Swami Vivekananda Sarovar is a statue Swami Vivekananda. The statue is huge and is a great attraction for people to come visit. The surrounding area of the pond is calm and relaxing. The statue itself is an attraction for those who haven’t seen it before and for others the pond is a beautiful attraction. The lake is a great place to go for a stroll in the evening or early morning. You can see small fish in the pond swimming around in the early hours of the morning. You can also explore the lake by going on a boat ride.
Go on a Pilgrimage to Sirpur
Sirpur is close to Rajim and is a great place to visit some historic and beautiful temples from the old era. This holy town is also situated near River Mahanadi and is considered very holy for several reasons. The town has some of the most ancient temples and ruins that appeals to a lot of historians and archeologists. This is a great place to bring your children to give some knowledge about this region in the past eras. The Sirpur Group o Monuments in Sirpur has various temples of different religious beliefs; there are Hindu Temples, Jain Temples and Buddhist Monasteries. Nandanvan Parka and zoo is a famous attraction near Rajim and is located in Naya Raipur. The park is spread across 800 acre of jungle land which is the main attraction. The zoo has several animals, which have now been removed and put back in the wild as some animals were not allowed to be captured and kept in a cage. Although the zoo does not have many animals, there is an open jungle area where animals roam about freely and tourists can go to this park and engage in a jeep safari ride to see the wildlife and birds there. This is a good place to go with family and spend a day to be close to nature.
Check out Atal Park
Before you head back to your home city, visit Atal Park which is quite close to the airport to have a calming experience right before you take off. This place used to be known as Central Park and has several restaurants, inside and outside seating area, jogging tracks, yoga park and what not. There is also an amphitheater in the vicinity that can fit about 1500 people in it. There are regular shows that are held in the amphitheater for the entertainment of the people. There is also a huge garden area which is open and apt for children to run around and play.
