Summer is moderately hot in Dandeli. It’s the second best ideal time to visit Dandeli, as tourists arrive at the hill station in summer to escape the sweltering heat of summer in the cities. Monsoon rains are quite heavy and this period is off season for tourism in Dandeli. Most of the water based sports would be cancelled, taking away some fun from your visit and you might be spending a lot of time watching the rains from the homestay!

Winter is the most ideal time to visit Dandeli. Months from the tail end of winter i.e. January, February to March as summer rings in, are ideal for bird watching. You can go white water rafting in Kali River, trekking or visiting the gushing waterfalls, rain fed by the monsoon showers. Days in winter are pleasant and breezy, while nights can be pretty cold, so arm yourself with woollens and suitable nightwear. Temperature averages 16°C -30C°, with January being the coldest month of the year .
