The SwissCity Marathon takes places in Lucerne every October. Musical festivals like the Blues Festival and Piano Festival happen in November. There is also a World Band Festival that takes place during the Autumn months.

The winter months are cold and dark and do not make the best time to visit the city - nonetheless, if you want to experience snow or want to have a white Christmas, you would definitely have an enjoyable time.
