Located in the western Ghats of southwestern Karnataka, lies the hill-station of Coorg. Since there are no airports in Coorg, one has to fly to either Bangalore Airport or Mangalore Airports. Both these airports are very well connected to all other Indian states and have various direct International flights landing each day. From there, you can either go for a rail journey or a road trip for the rest of the distance. Mangalore Airport is the closest at just about 153 km from Coorg. Bangalore Airport is a little further, at about 250 km.

The best railway option for Coorg is the Madikeri railway station. The closest you'll get to Coorg by rail is Mysuru (107 km). The other possibility is Mangalore, which is about 148 km away. From both Mysore and Mangalore, you'll have to either board a bus or hire a taxi to get to Coorg.

One can take a long drive by car to Coorg. The roads are great and the ride will be smooth. Usually, it is only a two or three-hour drive from Mangalore and Hassan. From Bangalore, it is almost a 6-hour drive to Coorg. One could also go for KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) Buses to get anywhere in Coorg from any of the nearby states, railway stations or airports. Once in Coorg, you could either hire a cab for a few days or you could hire a car and drive on your own. You could also rent a bike, scooter or cycle to explore the hill station.
