This is undoubtedly the best time to visit and explore Guwahati. Winters are chilly with the minimum temperatures hovering around 5°C. Forest safaris remain open during these months. This period also experiences two Bihu festivals; the Kongali or Kati Bihu in October and Bhogali or Magh Bihu in January. These festivals offer an insight into the culture and life of the Assamese people as they indulge in revelry and merrymaking.
