The capital of Bhubaneshwar has the only international airport in the state of Orissa – the Biju Patnaik International Airport. Additionally, it also has domestic terminals that connect it to all major cities in the country like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata through a number of regularly operating domestic flights. While Bhubaneshwar may have the only international airspace, other cities in Orissa can be accessed via domestic airports present in a number of major cities in the state.

While there are a number of railway stations spread across the state of Orissa, the most important railhead is the Bhubaneshwar Railway Station located in the capital.
