I had asked for a relaxing, comfortable and stress free trip but what I got was stress filled journey to manali and back. While my stay in Manali was a pleasant one, my experience with the driver was unpleasant, unreliable and reckless. Our car Ac was busted so our drive to and fro from gurgaon to manali was a sticky and sweaty drive. Once we reached the hotel, we forgot about the horrible drive up to the hill station and enjoyed the stay at the hotel. Pls note I had asked for a nice 4 star hotel with good facilities. We got a 4 star hotel but stayed at their most basic rooms. We didn't complain even then. We don't have a nature to complain about everything. Our driver promised that he would fix our car once we reached manali but he never did anything. The transport company owner infact came to inspect the car but did nothing. Meanwhile the driver kept asking us to transfer money every now and then for petrol, to some personal number. Isn't it the travel agents responsibility to be the single point of contact for the finance. In fact during the return,driver was driving quite recklessly. Talking on the mobile while driving. Also making a sad excuse that we will stop at a garage to repair the car ac which could take 2 to 3 hours to be fixed while my family which has 2 kids has to wait out side in the scorching sun. We didn't agree for that and took a stand to not pay the last 5k for the car, the driver left us stranded in the middle of nowhere. We were atleast a good 5 to 6 hours away from our home in gurgaon. The owner of the transport service mr. Jaspal was extremely rude and does not know how to talk to a woman. We were forced to remove all our luggage and stand at the road side making our own arrangement to return home. Meanwhile our travel agent Amit from route to Himalayas to whom we told the entire episode could do nothing, couldn't provide any support at this point. In fact he blamed us for sharing feedback on the car Ac so late. Shouldn't a travel agent be concerned about his clients and be in touch with us regarding our comfort and ask us how was our journey. Mr Amit enquired about our trip on the 3rd day of our 4 day trip. That's when we informed him about the faulty ac in the car. Now everything became our fault. And ultimately we had a very unfortunate experience. My husband andmy 4 year old son got the worst of the Ac malfunctioning and high temperature. They both became sick with fever. By the time we reached home ( no thanks to the travel agent) it was 2am in the morning. Had everything gone according to plan we would reached by 11pm the night before. This was not a journey with a happy experience.
