Itinerary
After a quick meet & greet at the Guwahati airport, you will start your journey from Guwahati to Shillong. Drive through the plains of Assam for a while, leaving the city of Guwahati behind. As you start ascending, notice how shops on the right side of the road say Meghalaya while those on your left say Assam. This continues for the next few kilometers when you finally take a right and cross over to Meghalaya, the abode of clouds.
Your first stop will be Umiam Lake to enjoy the beauty of this serene place under gorgeous skies. Spend some time here. Overnight stay at Shillong.
Post breakfast, we drive to Cherapunji. After breakfast, we will be visiting text book famous Cherrapunji, where the sign 'the rainiest place on planet Earth' greets you. We will cover all the spots in Cherrapunji including Elephant Falls, Valley View Point, Nohkalikai Waterfalls, Mawsmai Caves, Seven Sister Falls, Eco Park, Thangkharang Park etc.
For the night, check in to a wonderfully located resort off Cherrapunjee . Overnight stay.
Today is going to be one of the most exciting days of your Meghalaya Trip. You will be walking to the bio-engineering marvel also known as the living root bridge or jingkieng nongriat (double-decker living root bridge). The trek to the double-decker living root bridge starts from a tiny village named Tyrna.
Evening visit Garden of caves which is located in Cherrapunjee, Meghalaya in the beautiful Northeast region of India, the Garden of Caves is a breathtaking natural wonder that is not to be missed. This 2.5-hectare park is surrounded by lush greenery and thick forests, providing visitors with an immersive experience of nature that is truly unforgettable. Evening drive to Shillong and Overnight stay at Shillong
This day we leave for Dawki & Mawlynnong village. At first proceed to the Dawki, where a beautiful river called Umngot with its pristine water flowing along the place. In the river you can do the boat riding. The water is crystal clear that the purity and pristine nature you hardly find any other. For more adventures related activities one can move to Shnongpdeng. Here you can also do different kind of adventures activities like Zip lining, Snorkeling etc. After that drive to Mawlynnong village. Upon arrival enjoy the tiny village amidst beautiful nature. The village is known as the cleanest village in Asia. Late evening come back to Shillong for Overnight stay.
Post Breakfast head to the Latium canyons. Later proceed for Visit Lady Hydari Park, Ward's Lake, Butterfly Museum, and Elephant Falls. Visit one of the popular museums of Shillong, Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures. Last but not least, visit the Shillong Peak, and trek high to the peak to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of the entire city, the Himalayas, and the plains of Bangladesh. On top of the peak, a telescope is provided for tourists to enjoy a bird's eye view. Later transfer to Guwahati Hotel.
Post Breakfast have darshan at Kamakhya devi temple, later we drive to airport as per your flight timings.
