Mahant Ghasi Memorial Museum is located close to Kutchery Chowk intersection in the city of Raipur and is a place that is rich in history and art. The temple was named after Sri Shadaramhi Saheb and has his idol inside the temple as well. There are shrines of several Hindu Gods and Goddesses that are beautifully decorated with flowers and clothing. The Mahamaya Temple in Raipur is one of the oldest temples in the vicinity and was constructed almost 900 years ago. Due to this temple being so ancient, this temple not only attracts devotees but also attracts historians, archeologists and art enthusiasts. The temple houses several shrines of Lord Shiva, Goddess Mahakali, Bhadrakali and Lord Hanuman. The structure of the temple is interesting, with 18 inches of walls surrounding it and 16 inches of thick stone columns supporting the whole structure from the bottom. This is the holiest site in the whole of Chhattisgarh and is highly revered by locals as well as visitors coming in from other cities in the country.
