It was a satisfying experience overall. We were able to drop some places in the itinerary due to time constraints and personal interests and add one or two places new, and the company accommodated the possibilities. Neat and decent places were chosen for stay for the price, and the driver also was accommodating. Maybe: We didn’t feel good about the stay at Mirissa as we had to wait till the next afternoon to just get water bottles that is a basic item in a room.

This is a warning to anyone planning a tour when visiting Sri Lanka. DO NOT USE THIS TOUR COMPANY… YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. UPDATE: The response by the owner is all lies. A promised 10% refund has been held and will only be given if I take down my review! This company is run by criminals who just want your money. Please DO NOT use this tour company. Please ensure you check the five star reviews on this site and be aware that the people posting have no other, or only a few other, posts. These have been left by staff and/ or marketing companies to inflate the image of this very dishonest and unconscionable company. This company has been reported to the Sri Lankan Ministry or Tourism and Lands and the Sri Lankan Tourist Development Authority for their disgusting treatment of myself during a visit in August 2023. Just a few of my issues reported are listed here: I asked for very specific items to be include in my tour those being local funeral industry places such as cemeteries, funeral homes etc as I work in this industry. Holiday Lanka didn’t include ANYTHING!!! And when I asked my driver to go to these places he laughed it off. He just basically ignored me!! I also asked to be taken to places that have local authentic food, street vendors and places where locals eat etc. I stopped having lunch with my guide after the second day as the places he took me were just tourist traps that charged a lot of money for TERRIBLE awful food. The only time I got any good food was when I found it myself after sending my guide away early! Why should I even have a driver if he takes me to places where he gets a commission and the food is terrible. My “guide” had only a basic knowledge of English. Only enough to be able to say and understand basic pleasantries. He didn’t describe things in detail as we drove past them or give me interesting facts about the places that we visited. I could have driven myself through the country for a lot less money, the whole point of a guide was to be “guided” and told about things. Much of the tour took me to places where tourists are just asked to pay heavily inflated prices for the experience. And on a few occasions I told my guide I didn’t want to do an activity and he basically forced me to go. Two very specific examples were the whale watching and river boat cruise. Both of these I said I didn’t want to do the experience and he was very insistent that I did. The river cruise especially was terrible. A woman with a poor little crocodile that is held on a string with thousands of tourists touching it and causing it harm. It was disgusting and very upsetting and I don’t agree with the exploitation of animals in this way. The river tour also had a fish foot massage. These fish are not local to that area or Sri Lanka. They are a gimmick used in places like Bali and Thailand and I felt like I was being treated like a stupid tourist!! That was $50 US wasted! No experiences/ attractions are covered in the tour price. I couldn’t believe that so much wasn’t included and there are so many places to pay more. Including a highway toll I had to pay because my driver ran out of money. My final day was the worst. I gave my specific airport departure time and I would have thought they would organise activities in Colombo to see me at the airport within 5 hrs of my flight. But all we did was Galle Green and a Buddhist temple, that’s it!!. I asked if we could go to Independence Square and the Pettah Markets or the Colombo bazar? My driver seemed to say it was included in what we were doing and I even asked him again when he said we were going for lunch. I asked if we could get some street food at the market. I thought he said yes but then we drove past the Colombo Bazar and to some terrible place near the airport. I was then dumped at a truckers hotel where I had to pay another 10000 rupees for a dirty room that stank of cigarettes so I could wait for my flight. I feel like the tourist who was just taken from one place to the next to hand over money. It ruined my holiday.
